Walkin' 'Long One Day

Walkin' 'long one day, I discovered a rainbow.
"My dear child," he spoke to me, in such a giddy voice.
"Its so fun to draw and paint that we must rejoice!"
So I grabbed my paint brush, an empty bucket I brought.
And climbed the magical rainbow, to find just what I sought.
I climbed and I climbed, to the highest point, where no one person can say.
I reached that point, I saw a sight that would make the Gods sway.

"Oh rainbow," I said, taken aback from joy.
"Your colors, bright, dim, earthly, stunning, and koi!"
The rainbow laughed as I stood, delighted as can be.
"Please my dear, take all the color you can see!"

So I took my empty bucket, grayish and hollow.
And scooped every color, all that the bucket to swallow.
I set the bucket down, fully engulfed with blight,
And smothered the brush into it,
And it shone with a spectrum of light.

I slashed the sky with my bush, giving in to new wonder.
Hoping, playing, that my creation would be no blunder...

"At last!" I exclaimed, exhausted from my work.
It had character, exclamation, and a little bit of quirk.
"Do you like it?" I asked the rainbow, bouncing with my words.
"Those are trees, and those are fish! And I think I will call those birds."
"It's a wonderful piece!" The rainbow said, his voice echoing like an endless pit.
"But with all those creations, just what will you call it?"

I looked towards the painting, trying to think like another.
"I will name it Nature, for I am its mother."
